William M. McOrmond

William M. McOrmond was born 14 August 1852 in Quebec, Canada. He moved as a youth with his family to the U.S. in 1872 and was Naturalized 22 October 1880, Clinton, Worcester, MA. Death on Sunday to WM. McOrmond Former resident of This Town a Victim of Heart Disease at Wallingford, Conn. On Sunday, at Wallingford, Conn., where had had been for some time making his home with his only son, Raymond McOrmond, William McOrmond, for many years a resident of this town, died suddenly of heart disease. Funeral Services were held in the Chapel in Woodlawn Cemetery Friday afternoon following the arrival of the Worcester train. The Rev. Amworth Hope was in charge. Interment was in charge of Undertaker [W. E.] King.
Mr. McOrmond was born in Quebeck [newspaper spelling] and came to this town when a young man. He married Emma, a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Hollis B. Woods of this town, and for some years he was employed as a sewing machine agent. Later, for years, he was a sales agent and demonstrator for the Armour Co., and then, after the death of his wife, returning here he established a collection agency which he conducted for some time. Several years ago he went to make his home with his son, who has been the head of a widely-known school in Wallingford.

Their stones may be found alongside James and Mary McOrmond, beside each other, in the McOrmond Family Plot at Woodlawn Cemetery, Clinton, MA. |
