Once I got to Bridge Street,
I got a little more creative while taking pictures. I started
moving closer to the water, climbing on rails, walls, and whatever
was in my way. With the exception of the renovations from the
Army Corp of Engineers (buildup along Naugatuck River, bridges,
etc...), I perceived that much of the landscape around me was
minimally changed through the years. It presented such a beautiful
sight to see.
The Naugatuck River has somewhat
of an 'occasional moody temperment', in that, the water level
has been known to rise and fall in coordination with rainfall
- but at higher/lower than expected levels. I suppose this would
sound logical, anyway - however, the water level itself is quite
noticable during these occasions. So, while I looked east from
across the river, I could envision how it looked years ago, just
by the observations of the older buildings on the other bank.

Along the way, I would stop, climb (if I felt
the need to), snap the picture. Bridge Street had been rebuilt
over 50 years ago, since the old one was washed away from the
flood - the nuance of the buildings remaining reamins...
You'll also notice from the
map, Pershing Drive kinda "ends" just north of the bridge,
along the west side. The road becomes Olsen Drive, which I continue
to follow along the river.
